Meet Florence

Agogo, Florence Awhobiwom, is the Founder of the Florence Agogo Foundation (FAF) a renowned non-profit charity/humanitarian organization in Nigeria dedicated to assisting the less privileged and instilling hope in youth, children, and the elderly through scholarships, donations, and diverse forms of aid. Notably, she holds the distinction of being the youngest individual to own a band at the renowned Calabar Carnival, named ‘The Florence Agogo Foundation Band (FAF Band)’—a Non-competitive Band.

Additionally, Florence doubles as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at the highly acclaimed Felicidade Mart in Calabar, Cross River State. Established with the primary goal of creating job opportunities for youths, the Mart currently boasts a workforce of over 15 dedicated staff members.

Florence is the very definition of African success story, continually setting the standard for excellence while expanding her interest in Philanthropy, International Humanitarian Law, Intellectual property law,entrepreneurship and politics. She is the archetypal philanthropist and businesswoman (entrepreneur) – a deal maker without peer.

Born in Obudu, Cross River State, Nigeria, Florence comes from a nurturing background with loving parents who are also natives of the region. Guided by the ethos “We live for the people,” Florence is deeply committed to serving her community.

She Currently holds an LLB(Bachelor of laws)from  the University of Calabar,and a certificate in leadership and management in health from the University of Washington in USA.

 Florence has a  distinction in Diploma  in Law from the University of calabar. Eager to broaden her leadership horizons, she pursued an Advanced course in Leadership at the GOTNI Leadership Center in Abuja.

She is the youngest Nigerian to ever take the Advanced level Leadership Course in GOTNI at 21, consequently she was the first Cross Riverain appointed as Country Director of GOTNI Leadership Center, Abuja, Nigeria,a position she occupied for 2 years respectively.

Florence became the first and also youngest Southerner to be coronated and turbaned as ZINARIYAN GWALLAMEJI of Bauchi State (Golden Lady of Bauchi State) by the Emir due to her humanitarian strides and impact in the Northern region of the Country.

As a Philanthropist, Florence championed the movement to combat hunger, provide rent relief, scholarships, improve maternal health care, paid of medical bills, fed thousands of the less privilege on the street and address the need for development under her foundation with scholarship for students each from all the 36 States in the Federation aside other scholarship schemes she host regularly.

In 2023, showcasing her passion for democracy, Florence took the lead in championing a campaign to sensitize Nigerians on the importance of voting wisely and peacefully ahead of the general election. Her efforts aimed to combat political apathy and thuggery, advocating for a more informed and engaged electorate.

Florence is a true born leader, this was exemplified at the currency of her tenure as Vice President of the Law Students’ Association of Nigeria (National LAWSAN) from 2022 to 2023. Her impact during this period was immeasurable, leaving a lasting legacy.

Beyond her Leadership strides and achievements, Agogo Florence is a Seasoned business woman who has made her mark in the business industry. She is the Chief Executive Officer of Felicidade Mart Nigeria Ltd she is passionate about intellectual Property Law, Energy and she enjoys networking and traveling.

As Vice President, Florence initiated groundbreaking initiatives, including the donation of the Statue of Lady Justitia to the Faculty of Law at Gombe State University, University of Calabar, and other institutions. Additionally, she sponsored numerous scholarship programs for law students across Nigeria, alleviating their financial burdens and providing hope for their legal education amidst financial hardships.

Florence’s commitment to community service and social corporate responsibility extended beyond association members, demonstrating her unwavering dedication to making a positive impact in society.

The young visionary and achiever stands as a role model and mentor to numerous students in Nigeria, a mirror reflecting the accepted standards among her peers. Originating from Obudu, Florence, made history as the first student to grant scholarships to over 224 individuals, both indigenous and non-indigenous, across Cross River State and various Nigerian universities.

Her outstanding leadership qualities have consistently made her highly sought after in various positions and offices. Currently holding esteemed roles, Florence served as the Country Director at GOTNI Leadership Center, National Vice President of the Law Students’ Association of Nigeria (LAWSAN), Parliamentarian at LAWSAN, University of Calabar Chapter (LAWSAN – UCC), and Honourable Justice of the Students Union Government (SUG) High Court, among many other leadership positions.

The glorious sophistry of legendary shown by Florence did not go unnoticed, thus, she was clothed with several National and International awards, some of which includes: The Nelson Mandela, Leadership Award of Excellence and Integrity as West African Youth Ambassador by the West African Youth Council in 2022; Award of Excellence by the Nigerian Police Force (Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC)) National Headquarters Abuja; Global Impact Award by the West African Law Students’ Association; Humanitarian of the Year Award by Law Students Association of Nigeria; Ambassador of Edutainment by the Students Union Government, University of Calabar; other awards in recognition of her contribution to humanity, advancement of education, health and wellbeing includes awards of honour by Benue State Law Students Association, Gombe State University Law Students Association, South-South Zone of Law Students Association, Enyi Ndi Igbo Prestigious Award by the Federation of Igbo Law Students, Senator Victor Ndoma -Egba SAN Chambers of Justice Award of Honour, Sen. Ita Enang Chambers of Justice — Achievers Award, Joseph Attah Foundation – Award of Honour, just to mention but a few.

Beyond her busy schedule, Florence finds joy in humanitarian services, listening to Gospel music, traveling, engaging in conversations, Bible study, evangelism, and prayer.
